This book
serves as a helpful reference for current, and those
considering becoming, owners of small or mid-sized businesses.
This handbook provides easy-to-read, brief, and direct
answers to common workplace situations involving employees.
Yes, more details could be included or situations really
expanded upon; however, the author knows that readers
of this book, generally, do not have the time to read
a treatise. They need immediate and clear answers. For
those detailed answers, they should contact a professional
human resources consultant. And, when such expertise
is needed, then, more detailed answers and actual assistance
can be received. The author can suggest persons to contact
as well as provide that kind of assistance, too; the
end of this book gives that kind of information.

Mr. Robert
M. Scott, Jr. is a resident of Ann Arbor, MI. He has
had over thirty-years of experience in human resources.
He has worked as a human resources administrator in
various work environments--hospital, college, municipal,
and the private sector. In addition, he has served neighboring
communities on various advisory boards of community
agencies helping them with human resources issues. After
retiring, he took time to reflect as to what his new
role would be; he knew he wanted to remain in the field,
but in a different capacity. And that is when, after
the encouragement of previous colleagues who still would
call and ask for advice on human resources issues, he
decided to begin his own human resources consulting
business‹Human Resources Assistance (H.R. Assistance).
